Invacare Robin Ceiling Hoist

By Hoists No Comments

We have been supplying and installing the Robin ceiling hoist for some time now. It has proved popular with a lot of OT’s that we work with.

The Robin utilises unique dual strap technology. This means they don’t need a spreader bar. Consequently the client and carer can be sure that eye contact is kept at all times. The strap system also allow the carer to attach the sling with a minimum of effort.

We have recently added the Ergolet Luna to our product portfolio. Luna Ceiling Hoists combine good looks with exceptional functionality. Their wall fixed horizontal E track helps us to fit a hoist where other conventional ceiling brackets or wall posts won’t work.

The same unit can be used as a fixed or portable ceiling hoist. This makes it a cost effective option for care facilities. As a result one lift can cover a wide range of lifting requirements. For more information on the Luna and other overhead hoists call us today on 01276 856060.

By Accessibility, Hoists, Pool Lifts, Stair Lifts No Comments

The health and safety of our customers is our absolute priority and we hope that you are all safe and well at this incredibly difficult time.

We are very aware that our customer base is among the most vulnerable groups with regard to exposure to Covid-19.

We would like to assure everyone that we are taking this crisis very seriously and are doing everything practically possible to comply with Government advice and guidelines.

Therefore the following steps that we have already taken are subject to review as the situation develops. Please note, this is a condensed version of our safeguarding policy which is available on request.

  • All staff and sub-contractors have been warned to self-isolate if they have either a high temperature or a new continuous cough.
  • If any staff member lives with someone that has symptoms they have been told to stay at home for 14 days.
  • Staff have been made aware of the need to regularly wash their hands with soap and water or use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.
  • All non-essential visits, meetings and travel have been cancelled for the foreseeable future.
  • Our engineers have been issued with masks, gloves and shoe protectors.
  • Before visiting properties our customers are being asked if they have symptoms or have been exposed to people that have symptoms.
  • We have successfully trialled operating our offices remotely so that we can continue to serve our customers if the Government advises all workplaces to close.
  • We have in place a no handshaking policy and are practicing social distancing.

We know how essential the products we supply are to our customers health and safety. We are still installing and maintaining our products wherever possible as we believe it is more dangerous to our customers safety for us not to do so.

Therefore we will do absolutely everything we can to continue to give the very best service possible during this unprecedented crisis.

Hot Tub Restricted Mobility Access Hoist

Hot Tub Hoists

By Hoists No Comments

The health benefits of owning a hot tub are numerous and well documented. More and more people are using them as an aid for rehab and hydrotherapy.

The problem is that the people that benefit most from this can find it very hard to get in and out of the hot tub.

At Dolphin we have several solutions to this problem in the form of a comprehensive selection of hot tub hoists. Having many different products to choose from means we can specify the best lift for the end user and their location.

For this job we specified our extended reach hoist which was originally designed to lift people onto a horse. There was no wall or suitably susbtantial structure to fit the hoists to. Consequently the client arranged for a steel RSJ to be buried in concrete to one side of the spa. We then bolted our hoist to the steel.

Usually we would supply a sling or seat sling with the hoist but on this occasion it was decided that the end user would benefit from using the Handimove body support. This drastically speeds up transfer times. The client also chose to have the hoist in a RAL colour to match their hot tub.

If you would like to know more about our hot tub hoists please contact Dolphin on 01276 856060. Alternatively email your enquiry to info@dolphinlifts.co.uk.

Maxi Sky 2 Hoists

By Hoists No Comments

The Maxi Sky 2 ceiling hoist is now available to buy through Arjo’s dealer network. Known as the MS2, it replaces the V5 Voyager Duo as Arjo’s standard ceiling hoist.

Dolphin have started to install the Maxi Sky hoists and we have been suitably impressed. We are pleased that the new hoist will continue to use the KWIKtrak rails. This ensures that older units can be replaced without having to install a new track system
